Friends have been asking lately what Twitter is. And I’ve been asked by several clients how to best use it and leverage it to improve their business networking.
Well, the exciting news is that there are a ton of businesses on there using it to improve the lines of communication with their customers, and there are many professionals building up a huge following and improving their credibility at the same time. I appreciate your comments. However, the cool thing about Twitter is that you actually only “listen” to what you want to listen to. You can think of it like it’s subscription based–you only see messages from the people you choose to follow. It’s not quite the same as an email account where you’re putting yourself out there for anyone to contact you if you don’t want to be contacted. I haven’t received a single piece of Twitter spam in almost a year!
Thank you for your links and words regarding Twitter. It is a valuable resource that can really work for you and your company if you realize how to utilize it in the way it was intended. And less spam equals much happiness!
And now, as it turns out, you’re nobody if you’re not on twitter (at least according to the song: http://tinyurl.com/6dvzef
